Setting up a GCM System
The following procedure provides an overview of the steps required to set up a fully functional GCM system.
To Set Up General Contract Monitor
- Use the Group Manager (GrpMgr) utility to create a group navigational hierarchy. The navigational hierarchy provides a roadmap for point data. Exactly how you design the hierarchy depends on your specific points, point locations, and current enterprise needs.
- Create and/or add every facility required to collect and pass along point data in your navigational hierarchy. This includes all navigational nodes, like meter station nodes and meter run nodes, and any custom nodes you've created.
- Install the CygNet General Contract Monitor components. See Installing the GCM EIE and Installing a CygNet GCM Nomination Grid.
- Add a General Contract Monitoring device type to your Import/Export Devices in the DDS.
- Configure the newly-added GcmCalc device in the DDS using the device editor. See Configuring the General Contract Monitor.
- Create a HMI screen in CygNet Studio and add a CygNet GCM Nomination Grid ActiveX control.
- Configure the newly-added control's Normal, Events, and ActiveX properties to display information in a format of your choosing. See Configuring a CygNet GCM Nomination Grid.
- Configure the newly-added control’s grid properties using OCXProperties to map and display data from your newly-configured GCM device.
